The St Regis Bali – Nusa Dua, as Its Most Considered
Bali accommodates every kind of traveller, which is both its greatest strength and its occasional weakness. The island has something for everyone — and that breadth means knowing exactly where to stay, and in which part of the island, matters considerably more than it might elsewhere.
Nusa Dua occupies the southern peninsula — calmer and more contained than Seminyak, less remote than Ubud, with a beach that is genuinely one of the finest on the island. The St. Regis sits directly on it, and the combination of that setting with the level of service the brand delivers makes it one of the most complete luxury resort experiences in Bali.
The Resort
The property is arranged around a series of lagoon pools that connect the beach to the main resort buildings — a layout that gives even standard accommodation a sense of tropical openness that feels appropriate to the setting. The butler service, which is standard across all room categories at St. Regis, shapes the experience from the first morning: preferences noted, arrangements made, the kind of attentiveness that removes the small friction points without drawing attention to itself.
Villa accommodation — with private pools, open-air garden bathrooms and direct beach access at the upper end — represents Bali luxury at its most complete. For a honeymoon, a significant anniversary or a milestone celebration, these villas are among the most genuinely impressive in the island’s portfolio.
Dining
Kayuputi is the resort’s signature restaurant — an overwater setting above the Indian Ocean, serving contemporary Asian cuisine with a strong Indonesian influence. It is one of the more beautiful dining rooms in Bali and earns its reputation. Worth booking well in advance, particularly for an evening table with the sunset view.
The King Cole Bar — a nod to the St. Regis signature bar concept found across the brand’s flagship properties — operates at a more relaxed register: cocktails, light dining and the kind of unhurried afternoon that Bali does better than almost anywhere.
Wellness
The Remède Spa draws on traditional Balinese healing alongside the St. Regis spa programme — treatments are well-executed and the setting, with individual spa villas set within the gardens, gives the experience a privacy and atmosphere that hotel spas in more contained settings rarely achieve. The beach yoga programme, run on the sand at dawn, is worth setting an alarm for.

A Note on Bali
Nusa Dua is the right base for those who want resort quality and beach access as the primary experience. For those who want to understand Bali more broadly — the rice terraces of Tegalalang, the temple culture of Ubud, the arts scene around Seminyak — it works well as one part of a longer stay that moves between the island’s different characters. We design Bali itineraries regularly and can advise on the right structure depending on how long you have and what matters most.
